As George Harrison from The Beatles once stated, “All Things Must Pass.” So, on October 28, 2010, we said good-bye to our beautiful 1970 Nova project car. A gentleman purchased it from Van Buren, Arkansas as a replacement for his high school vehicle.This sweet little thing has had quite a run. She’s been on the cover of Source Interlink’s 2008 Nova Annual and Super Chevy magazine, exhibited at SEMA and featured in three of our company videos.
When we found her she was in pretty bad shape, so we decided to do a complete frame-off, stripping her down to the bare sheet metal. However, before we did any work we took her to American Speedway in Pomona and ran her through a rigorous course, which included slalom, skid-pad, and braking. The results weren’t too hot.
After repairing some minor rust damage, she was given a new coat of lustrous yellow paint. Then, we added a tubular front suspension, on a tubular front sub-frame, coil-over shocks and a new brake package.
Once complete, she was taken out to the track again and put through the same ground-pounding series of tests. This time, her numbers were impressive. Check out past blog entries for details.
We hated to see her go, but we know that she’s in good hands. Clearly, she is loved by her owner, who, when the weather is good takes her to car shows in the surrounding area.
